Internet Mail Gateway

Hi Support:

I am running Saclix 10 on a SUSE 10 platform.

I have an issue with the internet mail gateway.

When i look at the queue it says:

1 messages being processed averaged 1130.22 messages during last 1 min
1143 messages in the queue averaged 1093.42 messages during last 5 min
267 total messages processed averaged 972.18 messages during last 15 min


The server has not be on long, the company just gets a lot of spam mail.
The queue will build untill it gets to 5000 and then the server crashs.

My questions are:

1. Can the Internet Mail Gateway only process 1 message at a time?
2. How can i speed up the processing?
3. The averaged messages figures do not relate to the queue or processed mails.


I tried looking at the queue and deleting spam mail, so that it would not get processed.
This worked for a while, however now when i click on the queue it freezes my web browser on "fetching data from queue".

I have rebooted the server and tried different browsers.

Any help is always great.

Hi,

Your problem may be helped by increasing the number of processes servicing the gateway. Do a "omsetsvc -r unix" should report how many auxilliary process you have set up (if any), and to change it do a "omsetsvc -x unix <number of aux proc>". For more details see man page for omsetsvc.
