Intergration?

Postby jimmythehuman » Sun Mar 19, 2006 9:34 pm

We have briefly evaluated the Scalix product and really love it.

But one of the requirements is for this product to allow central user management so that we can run one server, create accounts that will provide domain access and auto create home shares - allow useradmin to change share permissions etc

Does Scalix intergrate with another product to allow this type of seemless functionality via the web gui for no technical user admins?

Maybe a product like Clark Connect?

The next version of ClarkConnect (v4) will indeed come with a groupware solution, but unfortunately they didn't choose for Scalix.

It will be a combination of Kolab + Horde.

However they did several tests with other groupware solutions, one of which was Scalix.
Therefore they may be able to answer your question more precisely.
The forums can be found at: http://www.clarkconnect.com/forums
(I use Clark Connect for several years already and am very pleased with it)

Also, they don't exclude the possibility to provide scalix integration in a later version, when Scalix "is more mature" to say it with their words.
They were very optimistic about the product, but seemed to find it a little immature at the moment.

Hi,

we can integrate with OpenLDAP, Active Directory and eDirectory, so central management is not a problem at all. Looking at Clarkconnect I am not sure what you would use it for in the Scalix context.

Cheers,

Sascha.
