Voting Buttons

Postby Imran.Patel » Fri Mar 17, 2006 8:16 am

We currently have two emails systems - Exchange 2000 and Scalix 10. When a user sends an email out with voting buttons, users on Scalix don't get the buttons/options. Both email systems use Outlook XP as their client. The voting button option seems to be tied into Outlook rather than the email servers as i can see it in options when using Exchange or Scalix. How do i go about resolving this so that Scalix users see the email with the voting button options?

Thanks
Imran

Are you using Community Edition or do you have an Enterprise license.

If you do not have an Enterprise license you will not be able to interoperate with Exchange at this level. One of the features available with the Enterprise license is that MAPI properties are retained between Scalix and Exchange, i.e. the TNEF gateway is enabled.

For it to work, the Exchange server needs to be sending the WINMAIL.DAT attachment from the Internet Mail Service. Do you know if this is the case ?

In your Exchange configuration, there is a per-domain setting on the message format. You will need to set this to "always send rich text" for the domain associated with your scalix server.

Please see the migration guide for details; this will have some sample configs for Exchange 5.5, but 2000/2003 will have the same logic, just in another place.

Cheers,
Florian.
