Please can you mail a message to support@scalix.com and mark it FAO Dave Kelly. I'd like to SSH to your server if possible so that I can do some investigation into this.

Cheers

Dave

For the benefit of any other viewers, the problem was related to the Scalix user ID pool.

In order for SAC to function, a user sxqueryadmin is created on each server to allow the admin console to query data. This was not created on this server.

Each Scalix user has to have a unix ID for process control which is why the pool is required. The pool "reserves" a range of ids to use.

In this case, it did not appear that the scalix user id pool had been configured by the installer.

The file /var/opt/scalix/logs/fatal showed the following error:

Code: Select all

SERIOUS ERROR                  Administration(omaddu        ) 03.08.05 09:34:22
[OM 8154] No more id's are available from the system id pool.
Pid of logging process: 8118

The solution is to run the command:

Code: Select all

omadmidp -a -s aaaaa -n bbbbb

where -s is the unix ID to start from and -n is the number of ids to make available and then reconfigure SAC using the installer.

Cheers

Dave

Hi,

Can you run rpm -qa | grep scalix and see what Scalix RPMs are installed?
