For asian language, I recommend you use zimbra, www.zimbra.com. I also use AJAX.

The upcoming Scalix 10 release has some improved support for Unicode character sets in SWA. It'll be available later this month.

It'll also introduce some more relevant usability features in SWA. Trust you'll like it.

:-) Stay tuned,
Florian.

Sounds ok.

Just to be clear - we don't officially support doublebyte languages, etc., in Scalix 10 - this will happen in the next release. However, some improvements have been made and the system should be usable in most cases.

cheers,
Florian.

Is that mean it will officially support in it in the next release...lets say 11?

We usually don't make "official" statements about upcoming releases until at least engineering work has progressed far enough to be sure. But I believe it is fair to say that we're working on making that happen.

My experience of Chinese with SWA in Scalix 10 already exceeds my expectation.

However, there is a major work to be done in the Outlook connector. I really hope the next major version will resolve this.

Absolutely! :-)

Our team is in the middle of that major part of work on the Outlook side and the planning is that the next major release will have that as well.... and unlike some of our competitors, this will include support for all versions of Outlook in wider use today (2000, 2002 and 2003) and provide full functionality for Delegation, Offline Working, Server-based Rules, Native Free/Busy, Public Folders and more! :-)

May I ask if you're a current customer of ours - if so, I'd keep you on a list of Beta candidates for testing with chinese character sets!

Cheers,
Florian.

Hi,

We are using the community version of scalix (less than 20 outlook users), do you have any updates of the next version? Is it possible for us to test the beta version?

thanks

Scalix 11 is scheduled to have full Unicode and double-byte character set support.

A community preview early release is available for download now. Maybe you want to download this (not suitable for production use yet) and try the new character set support.
