There have been questions asked of you that still haven't been answered. First, are you logging on as "sxadmin@testdevelop.exwebtech.local" or just "sxadmin"? You must login in with AuthID so in your case, you must use the former and it is case-sensitive. Second, can you confirm this is Scalix 10.0? If so, what URL are you going to? Can you also post the output from:

omsearch -e sxqueryadmin -m @all-attr@ -v

Yes this is scalix 10 I just downloaded it a couble days ago. one I am able to login to the webmail fron end with the sxadmin.testdevelop.exwebtech.local. but not the back end. I am
going to URL http://IPadress/sac.

It appears that your hosts FQDN has changed between the time you installed SAC and now as the sxqueryadmin's FQDN hasn't been set. Can you confirm that this machine's IP address (as shown by an ifconfig) is 10.0.0.67? There are a few odd things going on. One is the HOST-FQDN for this user is null. Second, the Internet address for this user is not what it would be by default. Did you modify this user at all? You can change the host-fqdn for this by typing:

Nothing has changed sense I installed scalix everything has stayed the same. I have installed this right after I installed linux. and no the host name has not change. I have even try reinstalled redhat. and then I insalled scalix and had this problem. Also to let you know I can login to the webmail access with this account.

another thing is this in a test enviroment not on the internet. and I access with the IP address. also why can I login the front end and not the back end with the same user

I just hope this does not happen when I pu this on a production server. Should not happen either way should not be this hard. Not looking good for this product.

I know you are the support person. I think this needs to be addressed. I should be able to insall this on my testing system with out this much problem. I have tested a other mail systems and have not had any problems. aka atmail and other and they all insalled fine and work perfect. So this definetly needs to addressed.

The problem is that it appears that your test server was not configured with DNS. If you type ifconfig, what is the IP address that's listed? Next, type nslookup and enter that IP address, what comes back? If it doesn't return the name of your server - testdevelop.exwebtech.local, then your DNS for this server isn't setup correctly. Scalix expects that your DNS is setup correctly and if it's not, you can end up with results similar to what you're seeing.

You can reset all of your host-fqdn settings from blank to testdevelop.exwebtech.local by typing:

sxmodfqdn -o "" -n testdevelop.exwebtech.local

I ran into the same problem, and I really don't know what I did to trigger it. I was administering the system, and I accidentally closed out the admin console window.

So I brought up the login screen again, and typed in the credentials -- didn't work.

I reset the password, tried again, didn't work.

I shutdown and restarted scalix -- same problem.

I shutdown and restarted Tomcat -- same problem.

Same user can login with the same password using webmail, but not SAC.

After reading this thread, I turned on the logging options as requested, in my logs -- everything seems fine till you get to ...

I don't think I mentioned this, but I didn't change anything in the system itself, nothing relating to DNS or anything like that. The sxadmin@avalon.domain.com account can login to webmail just fine -- just that with the admin console it is not letting me in.

Other users can login to webmail also without problems. Really strange this one.

I am having the same problem with a default installation on a single server using the CLI running on Fedora.

I am able to log into webmail with the sxadmin user, but not sac. The Host FQDN is null with my installation as well.

Edit /etc/hosts and make it read

If you have other entries with the same ip address as scalixserver but with different names they must come after scalixserver.

Restart tomcat.

Make sure typing

hostname --fqdn

returns the fqdn of the scalix server.

Log in with the auth id of sxadmin as shown by omshowu.

If still no success now that your hostname is configured properly, uninstall sac, swa, res, mod_jk and tomcat then reinstall. This will ensure that other problems don't crop up in future.

I followed your instructions to the letter, and my output was as it should be (no fqdn errors, correct entry in /etc/hosts, correct fqdn in the user's entry) I was still getting an error when logging in with the sxadmin@hostname.domain.com user in SAC.

So, I completely re-installed Scalix and started from scratch (my previous was an upgrade from 9 to 10) and now things are working fine.
