User is Receiving emails they sent.

This is a strange occurrence, and somewhat difficult to explain. To begin with we are running Scalix 11.4.5 hosted edition on RHEL 5. I have one user who says that when they send email to joeschmoe@whatever.com, the email is sent to her inbox as if she sent it to herself. I looked at the emails, and there are no headers. Sent items show that she sent it to herself, but she claims to have typed the email address in, not a reply.

I still believe she may have been hitting reply all, but I thought it might be best to check here and see if anyone has ever heard of this happening for any other reason. Any ideas?

An Outlook plugin could be the culprit. What version of Outlook and what plugins are enabled?

Wouldn't think reply all would do it. It will remove your own email address from the list.

If you reply-all to an item in your "Sent Items" folder, it will not automatically remove you...

Outlook 2007. I believe the only plug-in that is installed is business contact manager. This particular client ran groupwise in the past, and there were some initial conflicts with the groupwise plugin, but it has been removed.

Haven't used BCM with Scalix. Are any other users on your system running BCM? Have you tried disabling? Does it happen with all recipients or only certain ones? If only certain, are they internal or external?

This is the only user that has this problem, but there are others with BCM. The server is on a DMZ, as we host email for multiple businesses/organizations. Out of all of them, there is only one user with this problem. I attempted to have the user duplicate the error, however, the email actually went through when they did.

Edit: I misread you initially. This only happens with certain recipients. They are all external.

We are uncertain. The user never received a response back, so we can only assume that they did not.

BCM does screw with Scalix in Outlook. As does Windows Live and its Office Connector. I always get rid of them. Mind you they generally crash Outlook rather than popping up weirdness like copying to self.

Does the user have any rules setup that might be causing this?

/opt/scalix/bin/sxaa --user <username> or check via Outlook.

I'd also check the address book and the outlook cache. Delete the references for the recipient addres which is trying to be sent to and get the user re-types them in from scratch.
