Cannot open .htm attachments from Scalix mail

Postby harrichr » Fri Mar 13, 2009 4:58 am

Hi,

I cannot open .htm attachments from Scalix mail. If the mail is forwarded to gmail for example I can open the file with no problem. If I drag the file from the mail to desktop I still cannot open it. I can open other attachments like .jpg and .xls for example.

Thanks

Rajen

What happens when you try? What version? What browser?

Actually this seems to happen to Internet Explorer only. I have used Firefox and it opens ok.With IE I just get a information blink and cannot read the message as it disappears too fast.

Thanks

Scalix SWA 11.4.2, Windows XP Pro, IE 7.0.5730.13

I have also tried older versions of Scalix and IE and also cannot open .htm and .html attached files from SWA.

However, if I use Firefox 2.0 and later I can open htm attachment files from SWA.

This is a known security issue with IE/SP2. You can allow html files to be
opened by changing your security settings.

Tools->Internet Options->Security Settings tab
Click Enable - Automatic Prompting for File downloads
in the Downloads section.

Thank you -- have tested and it works as per your solution.
