Stopping Scalix services: omoff : [OM 4838] ERROR

I'm getting the same erorr when I try to shutdown or restart the Scalix mail server.

/etc/init.d/scalix restart
Stopping Scalix services: omoff : [OM 4838] Cannot shut down subsystem Remote Client Interface,
there is already a shut down in progress.

Disabling 12 subsystem(s).

Does anyone know what this error is or how to repair it?

This isn't an error as such.

It just means that the Remote Client Interface has already seen a shutdown request and is dealing with it so can't respond to the one that is being issued by the init.d script.

Every time do a restart, I see this message... and again when I try to restart it. I got to a point where I could not connect from Outlook to Scalix and I was wondering if this was the problem.

I'm having the same problem. There must be a lock file or something somewhere. The "Remote Client Interface" and the "Local Client Interface" refuse to start or stop with the same error as what BMillikan is experiencing. A reboot doesn't fix it either.

Please let us know how to fix this.
