SWA options not saving

Postby abnormaliti » Mon Jan 05, 2009 7:22 pm

I have one user of several hundred who is unable to save any SWA options.

eg. if she sets a signature that signature remains for the life of that session but if she closes SWA and re-logs in the signature is gone.

I have tested here account with some other options such as "do not load images in messages" and same behavior.

Other SWA and Outlook users i have checked appear to be fine.

Perms in her user folder appear fine. User Folder : ~/user03/g0001c1

Where do i look from here?

Ben

If it's the same with several PCs, that would suggest permissions to me - omcheck -d.

This is the only user reporting the problem and i have checked several other accounts which are fine.

I will run 'omcheck' over it this evening.

'omcheck -s -d' did not fix the problem.

I'm start looking at some sort of tracing on SWA, or the tomcat logs.

Where are the options stored on the server?

In a hidden message inside the message store. Please compare with omcontain (please search in the forum how to use omcontain):

Code: Select all

Option?s
3001 (----) User 1234 Folder                   (USER FOLDER)
3002 (3001) User 1234 Filing Tray              (FILING AREA)
3003 (3002) IMAP #Scalix namespace             (FOLDER)
3004 (3003) IMAP Oddpost mailbox               (FOLDER)
Done

Option?l
Ctr Handle (3004):
    1) [userinfo data]                          (MESSAGE)
    2) [prefs(v2.1) data]                       (MESSAGE)

Be careful when deleting items with omcontain. I would try to reset the settings from SWA first. If this fails, delete the prefs item.
A server side tool to reset the SWA prefs is planned for Scalix 11.5 (Bug16280).

No, its definitely a bug. Please remove the entries with omcontain. Theres a multi-delete feature ("md").

After deleting all those entries SWA options are being saved. However the behavior is still not 100% correct.

With this one user in SWA when opening the 'options' and closing them without making changes a prompt is presented stating that changes would not take effect till SWA is reopened. On any other user i have tested there is no prompt if no option changes are made.

Anyway i am off on 2 weeks holidays so this is good for now.

Thanks for your help.

I would expect some hints in scalix-swa.log and/or IMAP errors for this user.
