I'd be very interested to hear more about this too, these keep re-appearing in the omshowlog output constantly, Scalix is Enterprise version 11.2.0, installation is done by a local distributor (recommended by Scalix).

I have no idea what is causing this to happen or what in the end this even means (if anything is really wrong):

No Problem, I have thick skin, and an even thicker head...

:D

The biggest benefit that I've found, personally, with the forums is that when I come here months or years later, someone has already asked a question, and I can benefit from it. In your case, you're right. You posted a question, there's no solution. That sucks, but it is what it is. This thread has been viewed over a thousand times now. Maybe that's because it's old, or maybe that's because there are a thousand other people with the same issue who aren't posting.

By having everyone affected enter their data into the bug, it's more likely to get resolved.

-----------------------

I too, have used Scalix since version 9. And I used other itterations of the product before that.

Scalix was the first software that impressed me to the level that I wanted to resell it. To this day, it's the only commercial product that I advertise or sell on my website. I was registered to resell Scalix long before they had a reseller program, and in fact, I believe I was the first reseller Scalix had in North America, though I may have been second. I was certainly the first in Canada. So I KNOW about their sales.

In version 9, there was only an Enterprise version, you're correct. It was expensive and it still is. But it was also feature complete. Meaning there really wasn't a cut down version for Smaller offices.

Version 10 brought Small Business Edition. That's likely what you'd have wanted, perhaps you still do. That was priced at $995USD and included almost all of the features except that it was limited to a single server. This is currently stil available, and I've sold it as recently as last week. If you'd like a license, and you're having a hard time getting details from Scalix, please call me, my contact info is in the footer of every message I post.

Version 11 has continued along the lines of 10, so far, but as indicated elsewhere, there are changes coming. In particular, right now, there's no product to address a smaller group than 50 users. And there's no support offering that isn't either really small (single incident, or 5 pack) or REALLY big (costing well over $10000) There isn't a middle ground. As I showed up late for a phone conference, I couldn't give details of what's coming even if I wanted to, but I suspect both of these will change as those are the areas that *MY* customers would like to see changes.

As with any purchase, the initial software purchase includes some number of support incidents for the first few months, meant to assure a trouble free install. So if you still want to purchase Scalix, DO IT, and you'll get your support incident included for free.

In the mean time, you're getting the support you're paying for, so I don't really see a problem there. Scalix has replied to your post, In the bug, Florian has suggested that this bug is long ago resolved, and in fact, the bug is several years old and would appear to be closed as other have indicated.

So lets go the basics.

Do you have a complete reproduction scenario. IE: Do you have a PDF message that ALWAYS screws up when you sent it to someone via Email? If yes, then lets send the PDF to Scalix and have it tested and then resolved.

Looks like I just had some outdated information regarding licensing.

Before I try to go any further with this, I'll make sure everything is reproducible (and pay for licensing). That may not happen in the next week or even month as I have a work around for now.

Thanks for the updated information and I'll chew it over (read: wait and see if licenses for smaller shops like mine become cheaper).

A single support incident now involves buying "points" which cover five support incidents. Just as Zimbra is maturing and becoming usable they (Scalix/Xandros) switch their model. WTF?
