Feature Request: Web Access, Able To Use Shared Address Book

Postby bluecc » Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:24 am

Currently with Scalix Web Access (SWA) it is not possible to access shared address books without going to mail view, opening the Contacts folder, and selecting the address book. So this means going to the address books through normal routes does not provide access.

I would love to be able to access our company shared address books (like Customers) when writing a new email.

So this is my simple feature request for that :D

Hi

we have had the following requirement (froam a customer)
- users should have read only access to a shared contact folder
- the addresses in the contact folder should be accessible with swa and outlook
- the custommer had 6000 contact and MAPI Acess to the contact folder was very slow, which should be improved with LDAP access

We did the following (with scalix support):
* we created a personal contact folder in the account of the team assistent
* we synced this data with imap sync to a shared contact folder
* we created a new LDAP Adressbook and integrated it to the mapi connector and SWA
* we synced the private ldap representation of the contact folder with omldapsync
to the new LDAP Adressbook

I second that feature request. Some of our users are quite dismayed to learn that SWA doesn't currently support this feature which they rely on in Outlook.
