Config Issue with mail routing

Postby PrisonMind » Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:17 am

hi @all,

i hope somebody have some idea to my problem.

we have in our company one scalix server in the headquarter but we have some plant with own (postfix pop3) mailserver.
now they should be used webmail via the scalix in the headquarter.

my idea was i create the users in the headquarter scalix with his own maildomain
for e.g swa.company.com and via aliases (postfix) i will forward all message to his adress in the scalix server. this should be work.
but now this "extern" user write a email via swa the senderadress was swa.company.com and not his right one e.g plant1.company.com.
so i thought i add his domain plan1.comain.com in the scalix but then scalix send this not to his account in the plant.

how can i rewrite the senderadress in scalix? or it´s better to handle this in postfix?

i know it was easier to put all plants on the scalix in the headquarter, but we need for this too much time, it´s plan for the next year.

I'm pretty sure you can set up postfix so that it gets messages from plant1.company.com and brings them into Scalix without the need for a second Scalix domain (swa.company.com).

You can also fix the sender address so that it is not swa.company.com but plant1.company.com by changing the order of the email addresses for the account.

From SAC:
Select the user
In the list of Email addresses you can click up and down arrows to move the email address to the top of the list. The email address that is at the top of the list is the one that will appear in the "From" field. So just make the first address "plant1.company.com" and make "swa.company.com" lower in the list.

hi leslie,

thx for the answer.

i have try this with add the domain plant1.company.com to the scalix domains in my headquarter.that´s work but not correctly for me. the problem for that is scalix think now that he´s responsible for this domain and he try now to handle all mails for plant1.company.com locally. but that is not what i want.
because i have one mailrelay for this domain.

i didn´t now how can i scalix say that for some domains he didn´t use the local delivey service, he should forward this to standard relay so in this case i can rewrite the headerinformation with mailertable. i think this is the solution for my problem.
i have try already with mailertable, but that work not for local mails.

my setup now is
i have got 2 domains in my scalix server
company.com, swa.company.com

company.com (for all user in the headquarter)
swa.company.com (for all user from the other plant)

i rewrite all mails with mailertable @swa.company.com to @plant.company.com
to external adresses that´s work well.

but i can not handle this when somebody write via swa to company.com because scalix didn´t use the sendmail mailertable.

i hope you can this situation.
