Imap cache issues

Thanks - I think these can indeed indicate a cache corruption. Does clearing out the cache help?

are there some news about tracking down the problem?
It bothers me since installation of 11.3, now going with 11.4.

is there any possibility to run that imapcachedeletescript out of sac? I don't want to open ssh to my internal server.

We are currently testing a speculative fix with a couple of affected customers. If this proves successful, we will get QA signoff and publish an official version of that patch.

You can use SAC's plugin architecture to wrap any Script into SAC. That would include a cache-reset script.

I installed this fix last night. SWA still seems slower than it has. Server is not under load. I've given Java 768M of ram.

How is 11.4.1 working for others?

certainly the changes from 11.4.1 to 11.4.1 have no general performance impact in either direction. The upgrade will have reset the header cache, so first-time-logins in SWA will take longer, after that it would be the same.

I have a lot of impap41d processes., like 87 with only 22 users logged in. Is this normal?

yes. one per connection. SWA typically uses at least 3 IMAP connections per user, but can use more depending on the number of folders you work with. Other clients can use a lot more than that, e.g. Thunderbird or Apple Mail.

Ok, thanks. One more question - the Item Structure Server has stopped. Is that significant and what is it's function?

please don't hijack threads - other people reading this won't appreciate.

it's disabled by default, so what you're seeing is normal. it needs to be turned on in preparation for very advanced single item backup/restore operations, so most installations can safely leave it turned off. it's one of those things that, if you don't know what they are, you can basically ignore.

I seem to be experiencing the same, or similar problem. Clearing the IMAP cache didnt seem to fix it. Are there any other possible solutions?

Running 11.4.1 on CentOS 5, all was fine but today, for some reason, I cant seem to read any of the email on any of the accounts? If I connect with Thunderbird the listing of mail messages will show up, even new mail, but when I click on any message I get "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: some of the requested messages no longer exist". I have run omscan, the script for clearing the imap cache, even re-ran the installer to re-configure all components and even rebooted, but still cant read any mail and the same error? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I seem to be able to read older mail in Windows Live Mail, but any new messages also return errors similar as to Thunderbird when I try to read them?

that means your mime browser process is not running. please check with omstat -s and omstat -a, and then restart with omon.

We have seen cases of MIME browser abort with 11.4.0, but don't think we have any reports with 11.4.1 so far.

Bummer, no luck yet. Seems that "Mime Browser Controller" is not starting as can be seen with omstat -a.

When I first checked perms in /var/opt/scalix/pn/s/temp, not everything showed the correct permissions so I ran his below.

chmod -R 775 /var/opt/scalix/pn/s/temp.
