Spambayes and Scalix

Postby sasanf » Fri May 02, 2008 6:29 pm

Hi,

I haven't installed Scalix yet. At present, we are using HMailServer as our mail server and ASSP as our spam filter. I am looking at using the Scalix Community Edition to start out with and probably in a year or two upgrade to the SBE or Enterprise Edition. One of the most important functionality requirements for me is interoperability with third party software. Does anyone know of a way for me to use Scalix as my mail server and also use Spambayes as my spam filter.

What I am thinking of doing is pointing all external email to my future Spambayes server and then for my users to forward spam to a fake domain that is only visible on my private network. Of course, the only problem with this setup is that my remote users will not be able to forward the spam they get as they will be on the public www. Does anyone have a better and not too complicated way of getting Scalix and Spambayes to work together?

Scalix can work with any sendmail milter straight out of the box, not sure if Spambayes has got this functionality. In short, if it does you can follow the instructions in the Installation and the Setup guides to do the SpamAssassin integration, and just replace SA with SB at the correct points.
