Coexistence with a hosted Exchange service?

Postby btisdall » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:50 am

Hi,

I'm just starting out on the road of what's going to be a 300+ user migration to (hopefully) Scalix.

There are ~30 users on hosted Exchange & key to the project is going to be interoperation with this service, as I don't think it's going be feasible to bring all of these users in-house during the first phase. The reason I don't think it's feasible is because I think it's going to be too costly & complex to replicate certain key users' wireless functionality - I'd love someone to prove me wrong on this!

I've spoken to the hosting company who are at this point not too forthcoming about interoperability... so, my question is, are there any Scalix users out there coexisting with hosted Exchange?

Best to all,

Ben.

I've tried that last year and failed quite badly. My biggest problem was Free/Busy data. I could import the data into Scalix and extract it again, and it worked in Outlook and SWA. However, I could not find a way to extract Free/Busy data from the Exchange server and populate it back in.
