How to forward emails NOT as mime attachments

Postby mikkelhansen » Sat Jan 26, 2008 10:59 pm

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get my iPhone to work properly with Scalix. I have a bit of a convoluted setup which is as follows:

me@myserver.somewhere is my primary mail account which sits on my Scalix 11.3 server. This mailbox has a rule that automatically forwards emails to

me@myfreeyahooaccount.com beause this in turn pushes the email to my iPhone. (Yahoo push email finally got fixed in iPhone firmware version 1.1.3)

Everything seems to work very nicely and reliably, except email are received on the iPhone with the original email as a file attachment, which the iPhone can't display. this is obviously a limitation of the iPhone but I was wondering if it is possible somehow to tell Scalix to NOT forward the emails as an attachment but just as plain text or somehow forward it "inline"

I do, of course, have the option of changing my rule to redirect incoming emails rather than forwarding, but that would prevent me from having my emails received and stored on my Scalix server.

Here is a related question: Is it possible to have Scalix redirect a COPY of the incoming email so I get the email stored both on my Scalix server, and on Yahoo?

Thanks
Mikkel

If you don't want mail forwarded as attachmentr then use redirect.
