Caldav client configuration

Right, time for my silly question for the day, what's the url for Caldav under 11.3?

we've been waiting for caldav sooo long, so pleeease....

Hi,

I've just upgraded our test server to 11.3, and am trying the caldav stuff. I've tried modifying the url published above and no joy:

http://mailtest/api/dav/Calendars/Users ... k/Calendar

I just get a 404 back from Scalix DAV services. Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to configure the users to allow their calendars to be accessed from caldav?

Hi,

Different CalDAV clients are interested in different URLs at configuration time.
Lightning (the Thunderbird plugin) and Sunbird configure each calendar
separately, so, for your default calendar, use something like :
https://servername/api/dav/Calendars/Us ... n/Calendar

(https will ensure privacy better than http if it is available to you)

To see which calendars are available to you, using a Web browser is often the best way. Point at
https://servername/api/dav/Calendars
and then click on the links until you see the contents of a calendar you are interested in. Your URL at that point is the one you need for Lightning.

Apple Leopard ical.App on the other hand is interested in your Principal URL, so that it can find all your calendars in one easy step. Note that you need to add a Caldav calendar account, which is DIFFERENT from subscribing to a calendar)
Your Principal URL weill be something like :
https://servername/api/dav/Principals/user@domain
Again, the easiest way to get this right is to navigate to the right URL in a browser and then cut and paste.

I have not used Caldav before - does this work w/ Outlook? Or is it only for the Apple clients and Sunbird etc..

If used w/ Sunbird- would this enable others to view my Calendar online at the site specified above?

Authentication is required for CalDAV. You could make your calendar available in this way but you would have to tell others how to authenticate as you and they would gain write access to your calendar. (In a future release, you will be able to provide delegate access to your calendar but that isn't possible currently)

Outlook native does not support CalDAV. I've seen talk of a CalDAV plugin for Outlook in the past but nothing was very mature when I was looking. Not sure it is any better now.

I tried it on my test server and it worked - I shut down stunnel and then loaded outlook and sure enough it opened up.

Install stunnel on your server.
Configure it to redirect port 5767 to port 5729 as indicated elsewhere in the forums. (It's 3 lines in stunnel.conf)
click the checkbox
You're done.

I'm new to Scalix, I just setup my test systems and test servers. I try clients too. But there is a problem. I can't setup Scalix with Evolution. I tried the Scalix Connector, it seems it's not works well with the Scalix 10.3, because it shows only the mails, and it's frozen from shared folders, what IMAP handles correctly. But I need calendar items primarily. Now there's CalDAV support, but I can't make it work. I enter the server address and the login, but when I check the calendar, it's uncheck instantly, and when I see the configuration, there are only pointless data there, not what I enter. Is there anyone who use Evolution CalDAV support with Scalix 10.3 ?

You said 10.3 several times there.

10.3 is several years old, and does not support CalDAV. Are you mistyping when you say 10.3? or should we ask you to upgrade to 11.3?
