Data not purged from disk on user deletion

Postby cm » Wed Dec 19, 2007 1:16 pm

Hello,

I am currently evaluating Scalix Community Edition 11.2.0.52 (for later purchase of commercial version). I am a bit in doubt about a (for me) strange behaviour:

For migration testing I copied several large mailboxes (IMAP -> IMAP) to the Scalix server. The mailboxes were accessible via IMAP, SWA, Outlook, etc.. Everything worked as expected.

After testing (moving large amount of mail between folders and so on) I deleted these users again via SAC. So I expected the user data to be deleted also. But this did not happen. All data is still on disk. I also tried omtidyallu and omscan as suggested in several threads (to delete the trash and (in the community edition not existing) recovery folder but this did not change anything. For me it looks like these tools only check mailboxes of users that (still) exist as accounts.

How is the data deletion process working in Scalix and how is the data checked for orphans that do not belong to a valid user account?

Thanks a lot

Chris
