Etch:Update 11.1->11.2,wrong swa and sac version [solved]

Postby p.richterich » Wed Nov 28, 2007 8:33 am

Hello,

this is the way how i ve updated our Scalix 11.1 on a Debian Etch server to version 11.2:
1) i stopped fetchmail, sendmail and every scalix service (incl. ldap, postgre and tomcat)
2) i installed all *.deb-pakages of version 11.2
3) i re-configured some broken settings (due to the update). i just checked these files, which were listed in the wiki: http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?ti ... plications
4) i rebooted the server (cause i had some troubles with a normal restart - atm i don t know why)

everything seems to work now - but swa and sac reports version 11.1.0.51, but server version: 11.2.0.11121
first i thought my browser would cache the files, so i cleared my browser cache - but no success. in the meantime i use a fresh client pc, but also on this pc i get swa/sac version 11.1.
if i execute "omvers" all files/modules report version 11.2.0.11121.

Has anyone an idea, what i missed? Do i ve to set the version number manually?

thanks for your help!

Seems the war files never got deployed into tomcat. I had that in Scalix 10 sometimes, but not yet in 11. You can try three things:

1) Reconfigure the web components and see if the deployment happens
2) Force the deployment from the tomcat interface
3) Uninstall and re-install the web components

thanks for the hint. now i get a little bit deeper into the tomcat configuration and found out that the new packages are installed into /opt/scalix/web, but the old packages are still installed at /var/opt/scalix/<instance>/tomcat/webapps/ ?
Now i m reconfiguring the scalix-tomcat server. swa is working now, but i can t sign on at sac - i ll have a look into the forum now.

thanks for the help.

edited: and the folders were renamed from webmail to scalix-swa, sca -> scalix-admin-console, caa -> caa-services

k, i fixed it. forget about my last post - Valerion was totally right. i just deleted the subfolders of the webapps-folder. when i started the tomcat server, the files were re-deployed and everything works fine.
thx, Valerion.
