sac login hangs

Postby darkwave » Tue Dec 04, 2007 2:46 pm

Hello

I installed scalix 11.2.0 on an plain debian etch. The installation was made by the python script witch is located on the how-to (http://ti.dynalias.net/rd/programming/p ... _inst.aspx)

So far so good. Everything works fine, except the sac login. Every time when I try to log in the web-based administration console it hangs.

The message "Attempting to Log In" appears and nothing happens any more:'(

Any suggestions?

I worked nearly through the whole forum .... but I still no solution.

cat /var/opt/scalix/bn/tomcat/logs/scalix-swa.log

2007-12-04 17:53:14,331 WARN [AddressBook.lookupAttributes:171] LDAP server authentication failure

Invalid credentials.. could be the reason of my problem, but how can I fix it?

p.s. webmail is working fine.

What user are you trying to logon as? sxadmin? Note that you might need to specify the domain part as well, depending on your settings. Also you could check (using omshowu) that the sxadmin user is not locked out, plus make sure you're using the correct password (I think it's scalix by default)?

You can login as such

[root@brutus ~]# omshowu -n sxadmin
Authentication ID: sxadmin < ******You can use this to logon ****
Globally Unique ID: 050000000543e934-052.0.861.291
User Name : sxadmin /CN=sxadmin
MailNode : mail,anyone
Internet Address : "sxadmin" <sxadmin@anyone.com> < ***** you can user the email address to logon********
System Login : sxadmin < **** you can use this to logon ****
Password : set
Admin Capabilities : YES
Mailbox Admin Capabilities : YES
Language : C
Mail Account: Unlocked
Last Signon : 12.05.07 11:46:14
Receipt of mail : ENABLED
Service level : 0

Recovery Folder visible : NO
User Class : Full
SIS URL : sxidx://brutus.anyone.com/0d9000000543e ... .0.861.291
[root@brutus ~]#

If you do the omshou -n sxadmin you will get the logins you can use for your system

Is your server standalone or does it use external authentication?
What version of Scalix do you have?
What is your OS?

thanks for your answers, but I still can't log in.

I think the problem is not the login - account itself, because there is a "LDAP Server authentication failure", like described above.

Anyway, here is the omshowu output:
byron:~# omshowu -n sxadmin
Authentication ID: sxadmin
Globally Unique ID: 15000000c2d44574-971.2.861.291
User Name : sxadmin /CN=sxadmin

I tried to log in as sxadmin without and with the domain, but there is nothing happen. The message "attempting to log in" appears. no failure message, nothing. Even if i type a wrong login-name or password the message "Attempting to Log In" appears and nothing happens any more...

I have an other "old" installation with scalix 11.1. there are no problems,.
The new system is a plain debian etch with scalix 11.2.
It is a stand-alone server. I nothing changed on the settings after the installation with the python script.

It's probably a bug in the version 11.2?

I just installed scalix 11.1 on an other virtual machine. it'a plain installation of scalix with the same settings as the scalix 11.2 installation.
funnily with this installation (11.1) sac runs well.

It's probably a bug in scalix 11.2 in connection with debian etch!?

Thinking of waiting on scalix 11.3 ;)

Hi

Of course Debian is not a supported operating system so getting Scalix working on this platform is at your best efforts.

If you need a free OS then try CentOS www.centos.org
