Install 11.2 on a FC7 returns "unsupportet OS release&q

Postby arndt512 » Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:47 pm

Hello,

I've done:

- install a fresh FC7
- run yum update to get the updates
- get scalix-11.2.0-GA-core-f7-intel.tgz

The scalix-installer exits whis an error:

[root@mailmp scalix-11.2.0-GA]# ./scalix-installer

Scalix Installer - extracting archive, please wait...
Scalix Installer - starting version 11.2.0.52...
Scalix Installer - using Python 2.5 (/usr/bin/python).
Error: unsupported OS release: Fedora release 7 (Moonshine) on None
Scalix Installer - cleaning up...
Scalix Installer - done.

I've done the same procedure last week on another machine, using the same FC7-DVD, the same scalix-archive, so I've no idea what's wrong now...?

I know you won't like this advice. But here it is.

Download CentOS, and remove Fedora.

You'll benefit when it's time to upgrade.

If you want to proceed anyway, Check for a difference between the two servers in /etc/*release*. That will be where the problem lies.

Kev.

thanks for advice - and yes, I like it :)

I use CentOS 5.1, and anything runs nicely.
