Email bounces and timeouts

Hi all,

We have recently installed scalix 11.1 on opensuse 10.2, x86_64. (phew, that's a mouthful).

There have been a few teething problems, but mostly it has been pretty good. However now we are having some issues with some mails. One or two users inside the network have been getting bounces when then send to certain email addresses. The error messages are normally ''Resource temporarily unavailable", or "Connection timed out with <hostname>"

The problem is, it seems to favor certain email addresses and domains. For example, there is person 1 and person 2 inside the company. They can send to persons A and B in company X. Person 1 can send to A, but sometimes 2 can't. Conversely, both of them can send to B.

Very confusing. There doesn't seem to be anything special in the logs, except that all mails (even successful ones) have "STARTTLS=FAIL". I've googled this a bit, and it didn't seem to be a problem.

Can you please post /var/log/mail.info (or maillog)? You can cut it down cause it'll be really big.

Also, I'd recommend moving to SLES before you take this machine into production. You will hate upgrading on opensuse, because you'll need to upgrade the OS whenever you upgrade Scalix. If you MUST use opensuse, just make sure that /var/opt/scalix is it's own partition, so you can just nuke all of the partitions except that one.

Okay, i've done my best to anonymize it first. The mails that are having problems at the moment are labelled PROBLEM_MAIL[1-4], There is PROBLEM_DOMAIN1, and PROBLEM_DOMAIN2, which matches to problem mails 2 through 4.

If you need more details, pls ask. I just pasted 100 lines. if you need more, i'll host it and post a link.

As an aside, if anybody is interested in the sed stuff that i used to anonymize it:
