Not all of the items can be displayed

Postby mdarby » Thu Oct 12, 2006 3:57 pm

"Not all of the items can be displayed. The number of items exceeds the current maximum allowable for this container"

This error message pops up whenever I load a certian user's account. If they schedule appointments, close Outlook 2K3, then re-open Outlook, the above message appears after a short pause, then all new appointments are gone.

I need fast help on this if possible, my CEO is ready to drop Scalix like a ton of bricks...

Why is it always CEOs that have this problem ?

This is most likely because the container ( folder ) that is being accessed has >32K items in it.

Is that particular user using multiple clients, i.e. SWA ( or IMAP ) and MAPI at the same time ?

Cheers

Dave

His inbox has maybe three hundred messages; overall not that much other stuff when it comes to subfolders, etc.

I do believe that I was accessing his account when the error message came up.

But...

Would this also account for the missing appointments? I've seen them disappear with my own eyes, so I know it's not user error...

I also know that his appointments were missing long before I ever logged into his account...

If this is time critical for you, I'd advise that you invoke your Scalix support contract and log a support incident.

We didn't purchase a support contract as this board usually has a decent turn around time with most issues.

Is there any pointers to look at? Anything off the top of your head?
