Account becoming inaccessible after IMAP errors

Scalix version: 11.0.4.25
Client: Outlook 2007
Protocol: IMAP

My skill level: IT-aware, but not a server admin (can discuss any suggestions from this forum when I find one).

Scenario: On an existing account with about 2000 emails, I changed the incoming/outgoing server details in Outlook from mail.x.com to our IP address. While Outlook was downloading the folder hierarchy, Outlook wasn't able to sustain its connection to the server and threw an error message about the connection being lost. Since then, the mail account in question has been completely inaccessible from both Outlook and the web interface (seems to take the auth credentials but never leaves the 'logging in' screen).

I've checked error logs via the web admin interface. There were no listed errors for today (when this incident occurred).

An account became disabled in the past when a large attachment failed to download via Outlook. After having to force quit, the account became inaccessible similarly to the above.

Does anyone have any ideas or similar experiences? Any assistance would be appreciated. If any further information is required please let me know.

Do a search on imap-cache on this forum, and how to delete it.
