The answer remains the same - you can certainly configure two scalix accounts and make one a delegate of the other, then you can send on-behalf of the other account and you can set the scalix server(sender flag feature) to hide that fact and turn send on behalf into a send-as

you cannot have two main accounts (outlook does not allow that) in a single outlook profile and that's nothing scalix can change. It's as impossible in Outlook/Exchange.

Florian, thanks for the reply. I think the easiest solution is that the extra account of someone can only be used with the Webmailer. Well, at least we don't have to "waste" a premium account on that - a standard account should be sufficient then.

I think I'll check that out anyway. Is there a HowTo for this or some other link or is it somewhere in the documentation (I must have read over it)??

Well, one other problem is that you cannot use the same name for a different domain as a scalix user, e.g. Some.Guy@mydomain.com and Some.Guy@myotherdomain.com. That's really a pitty. So I figured I will just use the second email adress as a pop3 account in my outlook.
Doesn't work either: viewtopic.php?t=2356&start=45&postdays=0&postorder=asc :(

I have to say: Outlook is really the hugest drawback in Scalix. Get rid of that thing

Is it possible to set up delegate rights to a distribution group in scalix? Similar to the others in this thread, I have a group called support that get's my support@domain.com mail and delivers it to several people. I need those folks to be able to send mail out as support, but I can't find a way to allow send as on a distribution group.

Thanks.

You cannot send as a PDL. You can create the PDL as a mailbox, and give delegate permissions to the people needing to access it, but you cannot send as that PDL using Outlook with MAPI.

Or you can use a IMAP/POP3 client, they allow you to specify the outgoing address.

I want to be able to do it from the web interface mainly. Exchange supports sending as a distribution list, right? Was it something that scalix made a decision not to support?

There is a mix up of issues on the same thread (again!!!).

The subject of this post was on changing the From/Reply-To field at will, on the part of the end user. I believe it was answered in more than one way this *is not possible* using scalix in "Exchange mode", and a couple of workarounds has been suggested (use scalix as a plain IMAP/POP server)

That has nothing to do with *distribution list*, and there is no logic on derivating any conclusion one way or the other from From./Reply-To field. If you have questions on distribution list please start another thread.

Opened a new thread, but it is the same issue. I'd like to know why the web interface isn't a viable workaround for this if it's an outlook issue.

The SWA is always in "exchange mode", therefore this is not an outlook issue.only.

Also, Scalix tries to be consistent. If the two clients start acting wildly differently, it will serve to confuse users (I can do X only with Outlook, but Y only with SWA). This way it doesn't matter which you use, you will always get the same results back, which makes for less training.

What's the proper way to do this? I'd like to know as well.

I can not tell which scenario you are referring to, so here are at lest 2, and the ways to go about them:

1) just let a user change the From/reply-to from within SWA (and Outlook):
viewtopic.php?t=8923&highlight=change+replyto+swa
By bumping the "new" domain or $username to the top will change the default reply-to for every new user, both in SWA and Outlook. Existing users you will need to re-save all users with the desired email at the top.

viewtopic.php?t=8665&highlight=change+replyto+swa
viewtopic.php?t=8024&highlight=change+replyto+swa
viewtopic.php?t=6573&highlight=change+replyto+swa

1) change the From/reply-to on a Delegate account:
viewtopic.php?t=7467&highlight=
viewtopic.php?t=8332&highlight=change+delegate
viewtopic.php?t=3228&highlight=change+delegate
viewtopic.php?t=3892&highlight=change+delegate
viewtopic.php?t=326&highlight=change+delegate

Read both areas with attention, and in all likelihood you'll find your situation in one of them, and it will be either possible or not, in which case there are several workarounds.
