Hi Kevin,

SWA has evolved from an AJAX-based client that used IMAP for mailbox access. Changing that part of it would be a major task.

omtidy(all)u -M can be used to prepare mailboxes for IMAP/POP usage, however there is a restriction that Public Folders are not handled :-(

I've written a little script that will do this for all Public Folders that you can experiment with - you will need to substitute the username and password with that of a user that has access to all Public Folders.

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash
# Script to list Public Folders via IMAP (to prepare for IMAP/POP usage)

/opt/scalix/bin/omlistbbs -j | cut -f 2 | while read PF
do
    PF="Public Folders/$PF"
    echo `date +%T`  Listing: \"$PF\"
    echo ". LOGIN username passwd" > /tmp/imap-cmds.$$
    echo ". SELECT \"$PF\""              >> /tmp/imap-cmds.$$
    echo ". FETCH 1:* (RFC822.SIZE)" >> /tmp/imap-cmds.$$
    echo ". LOGOUT"                  >> /tmp/imap-cmds.$$
    nc localhost 143 < /tmp/imap-cmds.$$ | grep EXISTS
    echo
done
rm /tmp/imap-cmds.$$

Hope this helps - Richard

PS. This script only caters for top-level Public Folders.

I really think it needs to be done! If SWA gave the same performance as the Outlook client than Scalix would be a MUCH better product.

Thanks for the script, your post also explains why omtidy wasn't helping me. I will give it a try.

Kevin
