PDL external email address no longer working

Postby tbone » Fri Jul 06, 2007 11:15 am

Hi,

I have a few PDL's, like 'backup' with a bunch of people that need to get emails from the backup server that are sent to backup@mydomain.com. Since last upgrade scalix complains wiht 'no such user'. This has worked for years. any clue ??

Hi,

What version of Scalix are you using?

Is the PDL visible in SAC? Check the authentication ID from SAC and run "omshowu authid" at the server console - does it display the user with the INTERNET ADDRESS having the correct address backup@mydomain.com?

Can you see the user in both SYSTEM and USERLIST directories if you run these (I'm assuming that the name Backup is the user lastname, you might need to edit the "S=" parts if it isn't - if it's firstname, then use "G=Backup"):
---
omsearch -d SYSTEM -e "S=Backup"
omsearch -d USERLIST -t h -e "S=Backup"
---

Is email routed directly to your server or do you have a co-existence setup with an Exchange server (syncing with omldapsync)?

What version of Scalix are you using?

10.0.1.3. I'd upgrade if only scalix would answer my mails/calls to make me a quote

[root@scalix ~]# omshowpdl -l backup

What country are you located at (Belgium?) - maybe a local Scalix rep. could be able to give you a quote sooner? Check out http://www.scalix.com/about/partners/europe.php.

I agree that the Sales do sometimes lag behind, I'm still waiting (after 10 days from the request) a quote for a subscription renewal from Andreas Ressle @ Scalix - though it might be because we're not in such a hurry, our agreement is still valid for a few months.

The version 10.0.1 is extremely buggy (speaking from experience), as you probably already know an update would be the way to go before digging deeper in the problems (though the system should probably be in a consistent state before the update from 10->11, because the update changes the msg store format quite significantly AFAIK).

In what way has SAC stopped working, you can't even get to the login page or are denied login (with the sxadmin user credentials)?

Since you probably don't have a valid support agreement (judging from the Scalix version number) you could just purchase a support incident from Scalix (300€) and send an email to support@scalix.com - they should get back to the issue within a reasonable time (varies a little based on my experiences).
