Inbox subfolders missing

Postby polera » Tue Jul 10, 2007 11:36 am

I have a user who had multiple subfolders under their Scalix mailbox Inbox. The folders are suddenly not there in either SWA or Outlook using the MAPI connector. I have tried searching previous threads to no avail thus far. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,
James

This is a typical problem with outlook in general. We always had it, even before Scalix. In fact I remember this issue with Netscape as well.

My recommendation has always been for users *not* to mix plain emails and folders. Even more so in the Inbox or Sent Items folders. Just organize the emails into folders *outside* Inbox or Sent Items.

As for the fix for your problem, do a search on "imap-cache" and how to remove it for the affected user.

Jaime, thanks for the reply, but that didn't resolve my issue. The user's folders are still missing.

Thanks,
James

If you are a licensed user, try activating the Recvovery Folders for that user and see if they are there. Also, you can use omcontain (info elsewhere on the forum) to see the contents of a mailbox directly. If it doesn't show up in omcontain it is not in the mailstore, the only solution then is the Recovery Folders, or a previous backup (or a troll through the orphans, if you are desperate, but that will be VERY hard and probably not give you much back)

Great, thanks for your reply. I'll give those a shot.
