How to stop password lockout

Postby joako » Thu Jul 05, 2007 6:48 pm

Ok slowly rolling out scalix first to a test group everyone seems to love it no complaints from the users besides a few issues at first everything from the back end seems good. The only one big complaint we have had is regarding passwords. First when a user logs into SWA or Outlook they are not told the password rules. So a user loads outlook and enters a new password with no digits, suddenly they are kicked out of outlook for the wrong password unless they enter the original password, with no indication that their p/w change did not occur, same with SWA. They should at least be told the rules when the password is not rejected, or like in SAC it validates it first otherwise does not let you confirm.

This leads to the issue that really is the users complaint bugging us saying "whats wrong with this new server" always having problems to login. When the user enters a wrong password a few times they are locked out, again wit no indication. where can this lock-out be configured?

The lockout can be reconfigured from SAC.
It's under "Settings -> Mail Server", called "maximum number of login tries"
