can't login after 11.1 upgrade

Postby computernay » Mon Jul 02, 2007 7:42 am

Upgraded from fc4 / scalix 10.0 to centos 5 / scalix 11.1. (tarred /var/opt/scalix on old machine, untarred on new machine, ran gui installer) Everything seems to have gone great, except now none of the users can login. (tried SWA, Outlook using IMAP and Outlook using scalix connector) We had been using omldapsync to sync users with an openldap server before the upgrade. I can still run omldapsync with no errors returned. The problem seems to be that passwords are not being synced. If I run

Code: Select all

omshowu -n username

it shows that the password is unset.
All of the users show this way except for sxadmin. I am able to login to SWA with sxadmin.

Where do I go from here?

same problem here. sxadmin, or other admins no access to sac. Webmail fails as well.

the error I on web mail after trying to log in is:

Code: Select all

Malformed escape pair at index 25: service://scalix:username@%localhost%

SAC error message

Code: Select all

Could not log in
Could not fetch server list
possible problem with administration server

I will keep looking around but any help would be greatful.

omshowu -n mpipkin

Code: Select all

Ok, I did a reconfigure of the Scalix and got the webmail logins working. Still can't log into SAC.

After much searching and trial and error, Outlook clients using the Scalix Connector are able to login successfully. This was fixed by removing a few errant lines from /etc/ldap.conf.
IMAP clients and SWA still can't login.

Just to clarify, SAC has worked from the beginning.

I do apologize, it seems that I hi-jacked your tread thinking you were talking about the same thing. Sorry about that.

I've been able to track down the biggest problem and fix it.
We had used the OpenLDAP how-to on our old fc4 i386 server and it worked. However, this did not work on our new CentOS 5 x86_64 server. We were experiencing symptoms similar to those mentioned in this thread. (\1D\1D stuff in the filter) but we already had the openldap-clients package installed. We even tried the i386 version of openldap-clients with no effect. We tried the suggestion in this thread about ~/sys/pam.d/ files and now everyone can login and read/send email as before.

But, I think while I was trying to fix imap and SWA I messed up SAC.
I can log into SAC, but now it shows version 10.0.1.21(the same as it was before the upgrade) and it looks like version 10.0.1. I only copied /var/opt/scalix from the old server and I know I had a version 11.1 SAC working monday morning, so I'm not sure how this is possible. I uninstalled and reinstalled all scalix components at least twice yesterday in an attempt to fix the first problem and once more to try to get SAC back to version 11.1. Anyone know how I can get SAC to version 11.1? Or if I can safely use this v10.0.1 SAC with our new v11.1 server? Are more details needed? Any help is appreciated.

This is very odd, but it seems the server has worked itself out. We decided to let it sit for a while, as more important things had come up. We ran omscan to fix some problems with user inboxes on July 5th and that's the only thing we've done to it in the last two weeks. The SAC version is once again 11.1.0.45.
