Installing Scalix 11.1.0 on CentOS 5

Postby LHD-Tech » Tue Jun 26, 2007 2:51 pm

I created a virtual machine and unloaded my backup into /var/opt/scalix. I started running the install and I get as far as the checks before i get these error.

Code: Select all

Performing system check…

* Environment check… WARNING
* Filesystem check… WARNING
* Network check… WARNING
* Dependency check… ERROR
* Running services check… OK

System check report:

Environment check warning – at least 512 MB of memory recommended.
Filesystem check warning -- /var/opt/Scalix (message store) exsists, OK.
Network check warning – network is configured for DHCP.
Dependency check warning – The following packages will be installed next to resolve conflicts:
                                    Libical
Dependency check warning – Please resolve the following package conflicts and re-run the sytem checks:
                                    error: cannot open Packages index using db3 – (-30974)
                                    warning cannot open Solve database in /usr/lib/rpmdb/i386-redhat-linux/CentOS
                                    rpmdb: program version 4.3 doesn’t match environment version
                                    error: db4 error(-30974) from dbenv->open:DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatch

Running services check passed.

-> Please fix the problems and press Enter to run the system checks again or press CTRL-C to quit.

Could someone help me and explain what i am missing here. Thanks!

This is a problem with RPM's Database. It has nothing to do with Scalix.

Perhaps a yum update would fix it?

I ran:

Code: Select all

yum update

and let it update everything under the sun. Then I tried to install scalix and i end up with the same thing.

I also did:

Code: Select all

rpm --rebuilddb

just incase there was a corruption of some sort. still not getting anywhere...

I understand this isnt a Scalix issue, but just general help would be much appreciated. thanks!

You might want to just reinstall if there is nothing of importance on the VM.

Might be quicker than trying to troubleshoot it.
