Syncronisation of AD Groups without creating a emailadress

Postby b² » Thu Jun 21, 2007 9:47 am

Hi,

we have setting up a new SCALIX server and configured a syncronisation between Active Directory and the mailnode with omldapsync.

All works well.

No we want to take over all groups in AD for managing the public folder rights.

This is possible by creating a SCALIX emailadress for all groups.

But we don´t want to have all these emailadresses(in the system adressbook).

So we looking for a way to take over all groups without creating a emailadress, or
a way to hide this emailadress in the adressbook.

There is a checkbox in the SCALIX Advanced tab in AD "Hide User Entry".
Such a checkbox for the group would be enough for our intention.

I can´t figure out a way to do this.
Maybe possible when syncing with omldapsync ?

kind regards,

b²

Hi,

Assuming that you basically have trouble ticking that box in SAC, the reason would be because the entry is 'mastered' from the AD side, hence SAC does not allow change. The way around it would be to use ommodent command to set this attribute manually, e.g. ommodent -e CN="<pdl name>" -n EX-CDA-DIRECTORY="1" then rerun omexeccda and the entry should be hidden from Outlook.

Regards,
Danny

Hi,

its not only trouble to ticking that in SAC, there is no such checkbox in the ADS Plugin :-)

But it works with ommodent and omexeccda.
This is a way, which is ok, because it is only a little more work to do when migrating.

I have another question :

Is it ok to hide the following entrys ?

sxadmin
sxqueryadmin
ScalixAdmins
ScalixGroupAdmins
ScalixUserAdmins
ScalixUserAttributes

Thanks,

B²

I think that should be OK, again using ommodent to change them. Danny.
