Local Delivery Serious Errors [OM 10272]

More and more lately this OM 10272 Local Delivery error is filling our log files on a daily basis. I have checked all of the queues and there are no messages in the queues. This morning I have turned up the logging level on the Local Delivery queue to see if I can get any more information. Here is what is outputting in my log files almost 10 or so times per day:

I think the errors started to appear for us with the 11.03 upgrade also.

I have logged http://bugzilla.scalix.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15541 to track this issue.
In fact, I believe we are issueing too scary an error message here and I plan to change that as well as reviewing why this code is being triggered in this case.

then I am confident that there is not a real SERIOUS ERROR associated with this. As of the next release, you should no longer see these messages either.
The function names reported are the most important, for different platforms, the numbers may vary.

My Local Delivery stops after receiving these errors
When I try and restart the service, it just stops again.

I am only receiving these errors when sending appointments through the outlook connector.

This issue is different to the previously reported issues and is more serious. Which version of Scalix are you running? If you are on Scalix 11, could you send me an sxmboxexp of a problem message please?

Look for the "Last Msg DirectRef:" referred to in the errors. For instance, for one of the messages you are having a problem with here :
sxmboxexp --archive problemMtgRequest.mboxexp -d 000104022ec6a9e8

If you could send me the resulting problemMtgRequest.mboxexp I may be able to diagnose the problem further. My address is gren.elliot plus add the domain name you would expect.

Once I clear out the queue of any appointments, and restart the service, delivery continues as normal.

Gren, I have sent mail.

I believe that this may be related to libical since that is what appears to be different in my errors from those above.

I seemed to have fixed the problem. I am using OpenSuSE.

I upgraded to v11.1 to resolve the License Expiring issue. I configured a new server on new hardware with OpenSuSE.

Scalix failed to install on the new machine, complaining about versions of libical that i had installed from YaST.
I downloaded and compiled the most recent libical and libical-devel libraries from source, v0.27 I believe.
Scalix still complained during installation and failed to install.
I then installed the libical and libical-devel from the Scalix source files, and was able to install.
Sending anything from the calendar, however, caused Local Delivery Service, or Internet Mail Gateway, to fail (depending on where the ical object was heading).

Then I posted, and started trying other things.

I stopped all scalix services.
Through Yast I removed the libical and libical-devel packages, ignoring any dependency requirements.
Performed a

and found many libraries for libical.
Removed all the libical libraries.
Reinstalled the libical and libical-devel libraries from the Scalix source files, v0.24.

After restarting the Scalix services, and sending appointments, the Local Delivery Service and the Internet Mail Gateway did not crash.

Apparently Yast does not properly remove all instances of libical, or "make install" created files that YaST wouldn't remove.

Additionally, it appears that Scalix requires very specific versions of libical and libical-devel to function properly.

Thanks to Rob for his further diagnostic work.
I can confirm that with his test message and with the Scalix version of libical, which is a patched version 0.24.RC4 I don't encounter the problem he was seeing with the other libical.

Rob's original testing was with the latest released libical code from :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeassociation/ (version 0.27)

It may have failed due to changes in the API or he may have found issues that we will need to address before adopting this newer code in the near future...

A lot of them are documented in omsolve (though I agree, not intuitive).

Eg: omsolve -n OM 1212 (no quotes or such) should pull up a document for that specific error. Though they are sometimes cryptic to read.
