User not appearing

Postby MGonz » Tue Jun 12, 2007 1:02 pm

Hi there,

A few weeks ago we were editing a user, nothing out of the ordinary, and now we cannot see this user in SAC or when we use the omshowu command, unless we specify the user directly. How can we get this user to appear again because we need this user to appear in the LDAP?

Thanks ahead.

Can you post the result of:

Code: Select all

omshowu -n "User Name"
omsearch -s | grep "Last Name"

Actually, now it is showing when I do

omshowu -m mailnode

This user isn't showing though then LDAP is queried or in the SAC.

Please post the results of the two commands.

Users are kept in 2 places and we need to find out which one doesn't have the entry.

The first command gave the following.

Code: Select all

Authentication ID: Firstname.Lastname
Globally Unique ID: 17100000f2ec0d44-2.1.861.291
User Name : UsersName /CN=UsersName
MailNode : mail,ourdomain
Internet Address : "User" <Firstname.Lastname@ourdomain.com>="UsersName" <Firstname@ourdomain.com>
System Login : 60537
Password : set
Admin Capabilities : YES
Mailbox Admin Capabilities : NO
Language : AMERICAN
Mail Account: Unlocked
Last Signon : 06.06.07 23:57:11
Receipt of mail : ENABLED
Service level : 0
Excluded from Tidying : NO
Recovery Folder visible : NO
Resource Flags: Accept AllowConflicting AllowRecurring
User Class : Full

The second one gave us

Code: Select all

S=Lastname/G=Firstname/OU1=mail/OU2=ourdomain/CN=UsersName/INTERNET-ADDR="UsersName" <Firstname.Lastname@ourdomain.com>="UsersName" <Firstname@ourdomain.com>/ENTRY-TYPE=1/UL-AUTHID=Firstname.Lastname/UL-CAPS=7/UL-CLASS=Full/UL-IL=AMERICAN/CNTRY=US/PARENT-DL=832=864=960=992=1184=1248=1280=1312=1344=2368/RESOURCE-FLAGS=Accept=AllowRecurring=AllowConflicting/RESOURCE-TYPE=1

Just out of curiousity, SAC will only show 100 users by default. In SAC, go to the Settings tab then Administration. In the middle section you can set this to how many to retrieve.

If the person has a lastname that would put them near the end of the list, they might have rolled off.

Otherwise things looks correct.

How are you using LDAP to search for them?

Interesting notion, but we don't have that many users. To be able to edit his account through SAC, we have to get to it going through a group that he is in, but other than that, there is no trace of him, even if we use the filter.

Can you post the output of the commands on a user that is editable? Then we can compare them to see if some value is amiss.

Thanks,
Shredder
