Installation of scalix 11.0.4 on Ubuntu 6.06 LAMP

Hello all,

I've downloaded the 83 mb .tar file for the debian system. I extracted it, and installed the software inside (a box of synaptic appeared during install).
When I now open synaptic, I see that the scalix files that I've installed are put in the folder: installed (local and obsolete).

How do I continue the installation?
I've made the installer from the other source package I've also downloaded (22 mb file), but I still get an error while running that.

Error looks like:

Scalix Installer - starting version ...
Scalix Installer - using Python 2.4.3 (/usr/bin/python).
/usr/bin/python: can't open file '/tmp/scalix-wizard.c6XaZn/py/sxmerlin.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
Scalix Installer - cleaning up...
Scalix Installer - done.

The system on which I'm installing the software is: Ubuntu 6.06 LAMP version.

Can anyone help me from this point how to continue the installation?
