Scalix and CRM tools

Postby adhodgson » Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:00 pm

Hi,

We have just finished implementing Scalix to just under 200 users. We have had a change of staff, and one of the new staff wants to integrate Microsoft CRM tools, which requires Exchange, and is in the process of looking for consultants to do the switch.

I realise that Scalix have links to Sugar CRM, I was just wondering whether anyone here is using the software, and whether they would be able to chat to me about it via email/forum etc? We are based in the UK.

Alternatively, anyone using Microsoft CRM without Exchange, and thus the limited functionality with email integration, or any other CRM system? I basically want to keep the Scalix system in the company, for the very reasons we went with Scalix to begin with, as it would be a shame to ditch a perfectly working system only after 3 weeks because someone wanted a specific CRM package :).

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Andrew.

Sugar CRM works pretty good. Too bad there is not a web interface yet between the two. You are stuck with using either

Outlook
1. Sugar Connector for Outlook $
2. Jackrabbit Connector for Outlook $

Thunderbird
1. SugarExtensions for Thunderbird

Firefox
1. Firefox toolbar for Sugar.

I hope this helps.

Hi Andrew,

we are in australia, using both scalix and sugarcrm. to be honest we have no link between them at all apart from using scalix as the mail forwarding engine for SugarCRM internal emails.

the only similarity is that they are both running on centos linux. like you we would love to have some backend integration, particularly in calendering. as outlook is really the key application for us for email/calendar, we don't use the scalix webmail client much at all.

we did an evaluation of microsoft CRM first as we had planned a migration from Maximizer to a new system. the main advantage to sugarcrm was centralised server so we didn't need to do any client rollouts as we have staff in 4 different states here in Australia. SugarCRM now has Microsoft as a partner for various things, so it runs reasonably well with MSSql etc etc and on a windows server too if that's a requirement.
