Scalix Community Edition compatibility?

Hello!,

Right now we have a Red Hat Linux 9.0 mail server running with Squirrelmail and my supervisor has requested that it be migrated to a better server. Scalix looks like it would be much better than squirrelmail but it seems to only be compatible with Red Hat Enterprise, or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. Basically what I'm trying to find out is if Scalix can run off Red Hat Linux 9.0 and will i be able to transfer the accounts and messages from squirrelmail to Scalix?

Do you have a special reason to remain at RH9?
Could you use Fedora instead?
