Change Domain information in Scalix Server

Hi...

I have intergrated my scalix 11.0.3 server with a Windows 2000 Advanced server Active Directory. It was working smoothly. After that I have changed my Domain information (from "Tech.com" to "Swt.com") in scalix server and Reconfigured Scalix server using "Scalix-installer". After this it fails to start "scalix-postgres" service and i'm not able to login to scalix server vie web browser. I get following error messages while booting.

May 18 10:28:14 udayanga sendmail: WARNING: Xspamassassin: local socket name /var/run/spamass.sock missing

May 18 10:28:42 udayanga httpd: [Fri May 18 10:28:42 2007] [error] (EAI 2)Name or service not known: Cannot resolve host name udayanga.tech.com --- ignoring!


I need to run My Active Directory in TestAD.Tech.com and scalix server in Udayanga.swt.com. My requirement is to intigrate AD in another Directory.

I would be thankful to if you can advice me how to solve this problem.

Hi Udayanga!

There are few steps that you need to follow to implement Scalix Server FQDN change, they
have been listed at:

for mailnode and its mapping changes you should refer to the following post as well:

Can not log in to Administrator console

Thanks for you reply. I have done the changes according to the following links.

There is a one more issue. Now i can send and receive mails.
http://udayanga.swt.com/webmail/? is working smoothly, but i can not log into Administration Console. It gives following errors.

# vi /var/opt/scalix/ua/s/logs/fatal

SERIOUS ERROR IMAP Server Da(IMAP Server Pr) Fri May 18 18:08:48 2007
[OM 27202] Failed to get network host entry for host 'udayanga.tech.com'.
User Name: Test 1 / udayanga/CN=Test

And Following message in the browser
Could not login. The administration server is not responding. You should check the server log files

Here are few more informations for your glance.

Hi!

To resolve IMAP error issue, follow the information in post:
viewtopic.php?p=33855#33855
ignore the Change IP link.

To resolve the trouble login to Administration Console, Firstly, I would request you to
perform a permission check on the data folder, check the permissions for scalix files
using the command "omcheck -s -d", to actually fix the problem if any of permissions,
you should run omcheck to generate a shell script - on standard output - that, when run,
fixes the problem for permission issues.

omcheck -s -d >fix_perms.sh
bash ./fix_perms.sh

You might want to review what the script is planning to do before actually executing
the second command.

Please reply with what do you get result for the command:

omshowu -n sxadmin

Try logging into SAC with what you get next to "Authentication ID" in the above
command.

Also, try the steps mentioned at:

See if these helps.

Hi Subir,

I have followed the steps you have given me. It seems to be passwords are correct. As well as i had reset my passwords using "ommodu -o <user> -p <password>" (Just for fun). Anyway still i'm not able to log into Administrative Console. Here are few more information for your notice.

[root@udayanga ~]# omshowu -n sxadmin

While doing first installation, i changed "sxadmin" in to "admin"

Hi!

Try installing in Administration Console using value next to Authentication ID, i.e. admin in
your case.

Hi...

Again i went through the reconfiguration, but result is same.

I created few users using "#omaddu -n <UserName>/<MailNnode> --class <Full/Limited> -c admin -p <password> <Authentication ID>" command. Those users can login to Administrative console with their ID and Password. Even though it doesn't show my old users in the console.

How can i get back my old users and still admin user is not able to log in to console. Wheni try it says "The administration server is not responding".

Hi!

Try to re-configure the following components:
Scalix Management Services
Scalix Management Agent
Scalix PostgreSQL Database Integration

If this doesn't help, try to delete and re-add user sxqueryadmin. To add sxqueryadmin user
use the command below:

omaddu -n sxqueryadmin/<mailnode> --class limited -c admin -p <passwd> sxqueryadmin@<fqdn>

Note: replace the values specific to your Scalix Server.
