How To Add New License?

Postby jillrae » Wed Apr 25, 2007 11:01 am

Sorry for asking such a basic question, but I received my updated license with my additional domain name and need to install it. I started the Scalix 11.0.3 installer but can not find where to gain access to the server configuration in order to paste the new license in. Is there a CLI that will do this? Or what should I pick from the installer GUI interface?

Thanks

jillrae

There are two ways to do that, the simplest one being to copy/paste the license into the appropriate screen in SAC (its somewhere in the server/config area, i don't have a screen in front of me right now). The other is to put the license key in a text file and put this into /var/opt/scalix/??/sys/LicenseKeys/permanent.lic and then run sxlicense -r to re-read the key. using the second method, it is not even needed to restart the server, so this can be done in full production mode.

But if we do it the SAC way, a reboot is required?

then i think the admin console will actually restart the whole server, resulting in downtime. I would recommend doing a manual install if this creates a problem for you....

I would also recommend upgrading to Scalix 11, btw.

I have tried adding more licenses through the website but when I do it, it says that its going to cost $0.20. I am trying to add 20 more licenses to my enterprise edition and I need them really soon but when i call and leave a message, i never get a phone call back. Could I get some help on this please!

Now when I try the same thing but this time adding only 10 accounts, it says the amount due is $0.10. Is this just something we have to proceed through and we will pay the actual amount later?
