The spec depends a little on how you intend your users to access the server.
Scalix uses a file system based message store, so fast disk IO is always good.
If you users are going to be using the Web based access method, then you need to support a memory & CPU hungry tomcat java server aswell. Although you could run this on other dedicated machine(s) if you wanted to.
If your users are going to be using purely Outlook, then I think you can get away with a less high spec in terms of memory and CPU.
In any case a contemporary server with a RAID controller and 2GB of memory should be fine for 100+ users.

Subir, thanks too, I read that minimal reqs before but I didn't find it very handful because I don't want minimal, but optimal and time resisting specs
