Recipient name not found at destination

Postby LHD-Tech » Thu Apr 26, 2007 4:38 pm

We have 2 users that have left the company and their email accounts have been deleted. On one of our disribution lists, we send an email to it, and we get these errors:

Both Mary Doe and Jane Smith have been deleted and neither of them should have been part of this distribution list. Although, Jayme Adams might have been forwarding emails to Jane Smith in Ms Adams' absence. The same applies with Janet Jones and Mary Doe. I have tried looking at the rules that either one of these ladies might have applied to do the forwarding. I see no such rules for any such forwarding. Is there another place I can be looking were these distribution lists might be getting the address of these deleted users?

Thanks!

Did you check if the user still exists in the distribution list?

Yes. They were never part of the distribution list. I doubled checked just to make sure there was nothing in there.

Jayme Adams forwards her emails to Jane Smith.
Janet Jones forwards her emails to Mary Doe.
Both Jane and Mary have left and thier email accounts have been deleted.
These errors occur when emails from this distribution list are sent to Jayme and Janet.

Is there a rule in outlook, that is still looking for the email address, also check sxaa for an entry thaat is redirecting mail.

First thing i did was check their outlook rules. Neither of them have a single rule.
I am fairly new to Scalix, how would i go about checking sxaa...?

If you don't have sxaa on your machine, it is not installed by default, you can get it from: http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?title=Admin_Resource_Kit#Creating_rules_for_users_with_sxaa

To see if there are extra rules do a

Code: Select all

sxaa --user "User Name"

This will show the rules that are applied to the user.

To see the rest of the info, you can do:

Code: Select all

sxaa --user "User Name" --info <rule number>

To delete it, do

Code: Select all

sxaa --user "User Name" --remove <rule number>

Hope that helps,

If sxaa wasnt installed, could the rule still be created?

Not 100% sure on that. I think if a user sets up rules, they will show in there. This lets an admin manage them too.

I tried typing in the command but it says the command is not found. I have not changed anything on the server so i believe it was never installed.
