Public folder empty although messages less than 14 days old

Postby davidatlionhead » Wed Apr 25, 2007 3:12 am

My server has the following settings for a public folder:

Bulletin Board: Regioned
Owner: xxx /rnc1/CN=xxx
Expiry Date: Unset
Expiry Delay: 14 days
Message Expiry Flag: Unset
Size: 17K
Client List Order: 0

The folder receives email on a daily basis. Email messages should be deleted when they reach the age of 14 days. However, all the emails in the folder where deleted this morning when a user logged on. This is the second time.

Where to look?

Hi David!

I tried to edit the delay property for one of my Public Folder, I see only the affected ones
from the conditions expire.

While I checked the man page for ommodbb, the option used to edit the delay is "-l":
-l delay A new expiration delay. The number of days after the last modification, creation or attachment that items in the Bulletin Board expire.

The point from above description of -l option, to note is the "last modification, creation or attachment", make sure you are doing the right things. Check the folder permissions to
others are such that they do not have rights to delete items.

Thanks,
Subir

The problem is:

We have several Public Folders with an expiration delay of 14 days. All folders work properly, except one. When trying to change the expiration delay to 'unset' the 'ommodbb' won't do it and just say 0 days.

I think we need the expiration delay because emails should be automatically removed if they are to old. The other thing is; users should be able to delete emails themselves as well.
