turn off Delivery/Disposition Notification

Hey there,

first of all, your server is really good to work with. Thanks!!!

My problem is that I like to get rid of the automatically generated notifications. I read your admin guide and found an option called "IMAP_AUTOMATIC_MDN". It says if I set it to false in the general.cfg file the server should never generate such mails even though the sender asks for a receipt (no user or client configuration). Unfortunately, after rebooting the server I get still this automatic messages when receivers are downloading their mails.
I'm using the scalix server 11.0.3.10719 and get the mails by pop3. Therefore, the scalix accounts are just standard users.
Can someone tell me, what I'm doing wrong?

at this point, generating these notifications cannot be disabled in POP. there is an enhancement request open http://bugzilla.scalix.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10460

I believe the notifications CAN be filtered out so - see the admin guide (service router rules) for details on this.

Is there a possibility to change the text of this mail? For example to get a notification in German?

unfortunately no for external recipients. internal recipients, the standard in the 'net is to do those in english.

for internal recipients, however, the recipient will receive a localized version of the message - according to his server user language as set in sac.

Your input with the ruleset works. Unfortunately, I just like to discard the automatic generated delivery notifications.
First, I tried this rule:

TYPE=ACK ACTION=DISCARD

Everything worked fine but to all receipts. Then I had the idea to restrict the rule and add a SUBJECT condition. I tested several settings and detected a strange behave of scalix:

TYPE=ACK SUBJECT="*" ACTION=DISCARD

In my opinion, the result should be the same as the first rule because the subject shouldn't have any influence. However, in reality the automatic generated mails get through now but the Outlook receipt get still blocked.
Can someone explain this behave?
