Large Temp Directory

Postby chrisv » Wed Feb 07, 2007 10:28 am

Hi,

We have a client running Scalix 10.0.5.1 on CentOS 4.3 with a /var/opt/scalix/temp directory running at 102GB the message store itself only clocks in at 65GB.

It mostly consists of .mim and .mi4 files.
What can we do to clean it up?

Chris

take a look at the online manual for omscan, as I can't recall the syntax, but it will empty the temp folder for you of old files. probably best to do it during period of low usage.

or you can do what I did, stop scalix services, then purged the folder manually, but make sure you keep ownership/permissions etc of temp folder the same.

Thanks.

Tried the omscan method and it still didn't work.

Tried yours and cleaned up the space.

Hi,

to in crease the performance it could help IF the temp directory is mounted seperately and with a ext2 filesystem. So to say no journaling....

Cheers

Stefan
