Public Folder Contacts Categories

Postby jasonesman » Tue Jan 30, 2007 4:49 pm

I need to know how to export the categories of a public folder to import into a new public folder. We know that you can export the categories from the registry for a personal folder, but how do you do this for a public folder that is stored on the server? I have a master list of contacts that are in a personal folder in outlook and when I moved them to a public folder the contacts categories did not move with them.

Hi!

I have a master list of contacts that are in a personal folder in outlook and when I
moved them to a public folder the contacts categories did not move with them.

I created a list of contacts in my personal folder in Outlook 2003 SP2, exported the personal
contacts folder to a pst file, later imported this pst file to public contact folder and I got the
same contact category as I had set in my personal folder. I used Outlook 2003, could you tell
us what Outlook version you are using.

Thanks,
Subir

I used outlook 2003 vs 11.8118.8107 SP2, Scalix Connect version 11.0.0.653, and server version 11.0.0.431 and I did it the same way. I exported personal contacts to a pst and re imported to public contacts. The personal have categories set and the public do not.

Hi!

I am using the same Outlook/Scalix Server/MAPI versions. Could you please try creating a
new unique profile and try the same steps. Please check that this new profile should not
have a name similar to any one listed in the file "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local
Settings\Application Data\Scalix\Scalix\MAPI\Profiles\ProfileMap.ini". For testing purpose
create a new user and this new profile could be created for this new user.

The logs could be found at
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\scalixmail.log

Thanks,
Subir
