Rogue email filling queues - urgent help please

Postby simonwelch » Wed Jan 24, 2007 2:07 pm

Please can someone help urgently please? Our reseller has gone into liquidation so we have no support contact. All day a number of our queues have been climbing and climbing. I have tried the advise from various posts such as viewtopic.php?t=5818 and viewtopic.php?p=25355 but can't clear the queues quick enough.

Below is the output of omstat -s and the service router is now climbing quickly, although the Internet queue is now static. I have the following command running against router and Internet gateway, omstat -q router | grep "offertory" | cut -d" " -f 1 | while read msgid; do omstat -q router -j -R -m $msgid; done and the same command against UNIX.

I think we may need the password and advise for omdumpq. Please advise. Scalix version 10.0.0.354.

Regards

Simon Welch

Hi,

Try stopping the local delivery and the unix gateway and running the same command on those queues. Make sure that you check for other messages that might cause a loop. "Message could not be delivered" for example.

Cheers,
Yuri

Yuri

Thanks for the information, but wasn't I already doing that just by piping to a do omstat -q -j ......

I am running it anyway, but
1) this will take an age on the unix queue which is 233000 messages plus.
2) Can you clarify why the service router queue is increasing when it is stopped?
3) Why is the Internet Gateway Service showing started even after a omoff -d 0 unix?

Simon
