SPAMD CPU Load

I ran top and noticed that there are 5 instances of spamd running that are very heavy on the CPU load side of things.

My server does run 6 spamd processes - but none of them uses cpu time!
Of course when spmassassin processes emails, cpu time is used!

However i had some problems with one or two spamd processes eating up all cpu time (100%) for several hours!

My problem was that spamassassin tried to contact spam servers (pyzor / dcc / ...) via internet which was refused by our company firewall.
This caused the high cpu load!

Opening the ports needed by spamd in the firewall cured the problem!
