Failed to set password for the 'scalix' database user

Hi,

I updated a scalixserver version 10.0.5 to version 11. But now I have an error with postgress. When I reconfiure the DB there are these outputs in install log:

Hi,
Please let me know:-

1) Is Scalix server 10.0.5 is working fine on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 (i586)?
2) Is it running previously on Suse 9 and then you upgrade Suse10 keeping the Scalix server intact?

Hi,

First scalix 10.0.5 ran on SLES9. Than I updated to scalix 11. But I want use the kerberos auth. with Windows AD. But on SLES9 Kerberos doesn't work. So I updated SLES9 to 10. This occurred the problem that postgres doesn't work anymore.

I don't know what the problem was, because now I have deinstalled the scalix system and installed it again. Now all works fine also Kerberos an AD.

But could you say me what I have to do, before I update SLES9 to 10 and Scalix runs without problems after the update?

Hi,
just guessing as I dont have the environment to verify:
It might by possible that the database will not start because of the new postgres version.
The logfile

may give more informations.

I dont know how to upgrade the database, but a simple re-creation should be the quickest way.
Just delete /var/opt/scalix/sl/postgres/data and recreate the database manually.

Reconfiguring the DB with the installer should do the same.

thanks for answer. When I update the next SLES I try to recreate the database manually. Reconfiuring the DB with the installer didn't work. I tried it before.

The main step in this case is the deletion of the old database from

Hi,
Best way is to shutdown Scalix server, uninstall the server rpm using “rpm –e scalix-server “ then upgrade the system to SLES-10 , now run Scalix installer and choose yes for using the existing mail store .
