I am afraid not. In the end I reinstalled Scalix and restored the data to the new installation. I had to in the end becuase I had hit a brick wall and had angry users shouting at me.....

this makes no sense. I am experiences the same exact problem. All of a sudden you cannot send mail through the web access. When you select "send mail" it just hangs and hangs and hangs.

Im trying to evaluate this program but it does not seem very stable.

Can you detail whether you are seeing the same symptoms in the logging.

From the look of the logs that have been posted previously, this is pointing to network problems where the connections are just dying. In the past, when I have seen "Connection reset by peer" being logged, it has been due to misconfigured routers etc.

This is obviously not the standard functionality of the Scalix server :-)

Cheers

I added
localhost 127.0.0.1 to my hosts file and that seemed to fix it.

Now can someone explain why this started happening a few days ago and why isnt this mentioned in the instructions?

As I have no idea why localhost was removed from your hosts file, it's not something I can explain.

The reason why this isn't in the instructions is that localhost should always be in the hosts file. For it to be removed implies some form of manual intervention.

Cheers

I have a thread open on this same topic...I finally got something back.

MSN of all things shed some light

Basically it resolved the name but the server send the localhost.localdomain in the email header....this is not well received by these mail servers apparently. Yahoo didn't mind, to funny
